SIR: This is a letter to the people who took my Volvo wheels and tyres recently. If they will return the one missing wheel nut then I will return their car jack and wheel brace complete with a nice set of fingerprints. Can you also note that if you walk over a frost covered lawn to 'borrow' rockery stones to support the car then footprints become very visible. The police had a field day. In your shoes I would be wondering who was knocking at my door from now on. You were not to know that we had a sudden bereavement on Monday lunchtime and taking the wheels only added to the misery of the week. It is comforting to realise that we have such considerate people in our society these days. Prison is too good for you.
