SIR: On Thursday, January 15, letters were published in the local press from Clare Rayner talking about the support that Cancer BACUP provides for people with cancer.
I would like to draw your readers' attention to an excellent local source of cancer help and support. In your area there are cancer self help and support groups that have been set up and are run by local people. They can provide a good source of cancer information, and the opportunity to meet local people who have been through the same types of experience.
There are almost 600 groups throughout the UK. You can find out about your local groups from the national cancer charity, Cancerlink, by calling our Freephone Cancer Information helpline on 0800 132905.
Judith McNeill,
Chief Executive.
