Wanderers face an anxious wait to discover the severity of the groin injury that caused Keith Branagan to make a painful, premature departure from Saturday's derby.
The Republic of Ireland keeper collapsed in agony after taking a free-kick and missed the dramatic closing stages of the 3-1 defeat at Blackburn.
Gavin Ward, who replaced Branagan for the last seven minutes at Ewood, is on standby as Wanderers prepare for Sunday's Reebok clash with high-scoring Derby.
The keeper was still a little sore today when he reported for treatment and it could be a couple of days before a full assessment can be made.
"We'll have to see how Keith does but it looked a very painful injury," Colin Todd said. "These are the reasons why you always need cover."
Todd spent £325,000 on Finland U-21 keeper Jussi Jaaskelainen last month to provide back-up for Branagan and Ward.
