A WARNING about door to door salesmen has been issued by council staff in Bury.
It follows reports that a man selling security devices on the doorstep has been claiming they are approved by the local authority.
But the council stresses that it has not approved any doorstep salesmen, and is not subsidising alarms or intercom systems.
Housing and environmental services committee chairman, Cllr John Smith said: "People should be aware that they may have rights of cancellation if they are unhappy with a product when the salesman calls without prior contact," he said.
