A GET-AWAY car used by three thugs who robbed a petrol station has been found abandoned.

The raiders last week threatened the cashier at Bolton West Services on the M61 with a lump of stone and a car jack.

The three-man gang escaped in a Calibra which police have now discovered in Little Hulton. The car was stolen in Adlington a week ago - hours before the robbery.

The masked thieves escaped with £200 in cash and a large haul of cigarettes.

Before the gang fled they stole a video from the service station's security camera to make it difficult for them to be recognised.

Detectives have released descriptions of the thieves who are thought to live in the Bolton/Little Hulton area. A reward under the Crimestoppers scheme is being offered for their capture.

One is 6ft tall, 19-20, stocky build, wearing a dark blue cotton balaclava and a black bomber jacket. The second is possible Asian, skinny build and appeared to have "greyish" teeth. He was also wearing a black bomber jacket. The third was dressed similarly.
