Radcliffe Boro 3 Great Harwood 0

COLIN McRory returned from injury last night for Radcliffe Boro and put in a scintillating performance in his side's 3-0 home Unibond League Challenge Cup first round win over Great Harwood Town.

The veteran striker scored one and hit the crossbar three times, but it was his link-up with Ian Lunt that thrilled Boro's supporters.

The twin strikeforce created mayhem in the visitors' defence right from the off creating several chances in the opening quarter of a hour. The woodwork was rattling twice from McRory's efforts with Jon Senior and Joe Connor also going close.

On the half hour, Great Harwood midfielder Whalley was yellow-carded for a foul on McRory and amazingly 35 seconds later clattered into Lunt and was given his marching orders.

The ten men held out until half time but the second period was a rout for Boro. McRory got the final touch on 60 minutes for the opener following a goal-mouth scramble. Connor got the second within a minute and Senior rounded it off on 77 minutes when he chested down and struck an exquisite half volley.
