LOCAL chartered accountants and business advisors Barlow Andrews recently celebrated their 75th anniversary.
A day at the races was followed by a celebratory meal.
The firm, based in Chorley New Road, Bolton, was founded in 1922 by Mr James Barlow, father of the present Senior Partner, Mr David Barlow.
There are now six partners, working from Bolton and Darwen.
The firm saw modest growth before the war, but began to develop more when David Barlow joined in the 1950s.
Offers from larger firms have always been refused.
"We are proud of our independence and guard it fiercely," David Barlow said.
"This may be a big town, but it is a small community and our local presence is very important to our clients."
