NATHAN Blake will win a Premiership reprieve and a chance to face one of his old clubs if Wanderers overcome Orient on Tuesday.
The Reebok striker must serve a three-match ban for his "handbags" bust-up with Gary Pallister.
But a place in the third round of the Coca-Cola Cup will put him out of just two Premiership games and free to play in the home game against Chelsea on Sunday, October 26.
If, as they should, Wanderers convert their 3-1 first leg lead into a second round triumph over the Third Division club, Blake will miss next Saturday's Premiership home game against Aston Villa, the third round tie during week beginning Monday, October 13 and the league game at West Ham on the 18th. If the O's spring a surprise, the powerful Welsh striker will have to tag the Chelsea game on to the end of his ban.
Much was made of the fact that Wanderers helped Manchester United win the Pallister appeal by handing over a copy of their video of the Reebok derby.
But there was no new evidence in the footage.
In fact, the film Wanderers passed on to United was exactly the same as the clip seen by millions on the BBC's Match of the Day programme!
