SIR: This is to tender my heartfelt thanks to the RSPCA for all the help, I have never received from them during the last two years over four separate incidents. I was always under the impression they were there to ease the suffering of animals especially cruelty.

On Friday July 11 having tried to contact them for over two hours, I tried again the following day. After three hours of trying to contact them, I was eventually put through by the operator. I stated my case of an animal in deep distress, and came up yet again against a young woman, who would not give her name, which one would do, if nothing to hide. She wasn't prepared to help in any way, and after pressing the issue, she replaced the receiver. Maybe she doesn't have a conscience.

Having spoken to numerous other people, who have had the same problem as myself, is it any wonder that people just don't bother to ring them. They are about as much use as a chocolate fireguard.

The next time they rattle boxes under my nose or any member of my family's they will get short shrift, and as from now my donations cease.

I have found that people now contact me, rather than them, as I do have compassion and try to help whenever possible, and I don't rudely abuse them.

Disgruntled animal lover.
