CHORLEY enjoyed another excellent weekend with two more fine victories.

Roland Horridge's men improved their league position with a seven wicket hammering of Lancaster and moved into the last eight of the Thwaites Lancashire Knockout with a 24 run success over Clifton.

Lancaster came to Windsor Park on Saturday in second spot but were comprehensively beaten by an in-form Chorley.

The home side had professional Ronnie Davis back for his first league game since late May and he returned with a bang, picking up 6 for 33 from a fine spell of bowling.

Keith Eccleshare also collected three wickets as Lancaster slumped to a total which must have been way below their expectations.

Jim Fazackerley went early and Russell Cake was run out and Horridge's departure left Chorley on 61 for 3.

But there were no further alarms as Heaton and Senior, both unbeaten on 37, steered their side to eight points and second place.

Sunday's trip to Clifton saw Horridge and Davis in form with the bat and posting half centuries as the total passed 200. Clifton's reply of 190 for 7 meant victory and a place in the quarter finals for the Windsor Park outfit.

This Saturday Chorley make the short trip to Leyland in the Vaux Bitter Cup where victory would mean a bye to the semi-finals.
