LORD Chancellor Lord Irvine of Lairg has been urged to release cash quickly for Bolton's long awaited new magistrates court.
Local MP Brian Iddon has written to him pleading for swift action.
He wants Lord Irvine to release cash for the new building which was included in the Private Finance Initiative until the election blocked all further approvals.
Bolton South east MP Dr Iddon tells Lord Irvine that Bolton - the largest town in the country with a population of 226,000 - "needs a new magistrates court as a matter of some urgency."
He spells out how local magistrates and Bolton Council have tried for some years to get a new purpose-built court house in Cheadle Square behind the existing one.
