THE Bolton League cruised into the final of the MEN inter-league competition after sweeping aside the Lancashire County League by ten wickets at Denton West yesterday,

Openers David Smith and Steve Davies produced an opening partnership of 200 to obliterate the County League's innings of 199-7.

Man of the match Smith hit 94 off 129 balls with Davies 76 in 119 balls.

The League are now at home in the final to old foes the Northern League who beat the Ribblesdale League in the other semi-final at Blackpool..

Bolton got off to a perfect start with a wicket in the second over of the game, Ian Taylor bowling former Darcy Lever pro Phil Sutcliffe without scoring.

Williams and Mike Bocarro managed to steady the innings and when Bocarro was caught and bowled by David White, John Wilman came in to put on a 77 run partnership with Williams.

However David Smith grabbed the prize wicket of Williams when he had him caught by Simon Anderton and from that point Bolton were in complete control.

Taylor and David Smith both took two wickets and there was one each for White and Mike Crookson but John Smith finished with the most economical figures, conceding only 14 runs from his ten overs.
