SIR: May I respond to two current letters - 'Two bites allowed' (Your views, July 4) about this business of dogs being allowed bites! An entitlement!
Bite whom? Bite him or her where? Bite a chunk out? Bite a child's leg off?
I have heard: "He's had his bite, you know." His bite! An achievement!
You could picture a scene, a dog coming home. "Well, have you had your bite yet?" It is enough to make a boxer (man, not dog) want to bite an opponent's ear! Very Tyson - sorry, tiresome!
"Is this really chewing gum?" (Your views, July 8) D Yemm's suggestion is intriguing. But would patches of lichen be so uniform in size? Are the patches on D Yemm's stepping stones and flagstones as uniform?
