THIRTY firefighters battled to save a Bolton kitchen distribution centre early today as a fierce blaze tore through the building.
The fire started at 1.40am at Best Kitchens on St Mark's Street, Great Lever.
Crews from Bolton Central, Bolton North, Farnworth, Atherton and Eccles stations were called in to fight the fire and were still busy clearing debris today.
Fire crews arrived to find smoke billowing from the single storey warehouse and one of the kitchen units inside well alight. The cause of the blaze is still under investigation, but officers believe it may have started with an electrical fault in one of the kitchen units.
Managing director of the company, Mr Sian Karbaley said: "Despite the fire, we want to reassure customers that we will continue to meet all deliveries and orders." The cost of the blaze has not yet been assessed.
