A BOLTON school's band scooped the top national prize at the music Festival for Youth at London's Royal Festival Hall.
Smithills School Senior Percussion Ensemble with North Bolton Sixth Form College Performing Arts, were the first of four bands from Smithills and the college to appear during the week long festival.
They won the title in the section for rock and electronic music, and as a result have been invited to perform at the Royal Albert Hall in London next November.
A certificate for an outstanding performance was presented to the band, led by conductor and music teacher, Mr Chris Haynes.
