Such diligence!

SIR: 'Disgruntled Motorist' (BEN July 7) is not the only one to notice the efficiency of our traffic police. They stop motorists for "travelling too slowly" and "driving too carefully" and are very keen on prosecuting drivers of cars with minor defects.They booked a motorist because the fog lights on his car were set so the beam would be too low. This was on a sunny day. Unfortunately all these important contributions to road safety mean that they are too overworked to deal with other less important incidents such as the lunatic speeding motorist who smashed into my wife's car in a road rage attack. Of course, her car was travelling too slowly too, 30 m.p.h. in a 30 m.p.h zone.
