A YOUTH who subjected a young girl to a "traumatic" sexual attack at a Bolton recreation spot calmly walked off with two young schoolboy anglers, police revealed today.

The hunt for the attacker, who struck as the seven-year-old girl was walking near Firwood lodges, off Thicketford Road, Bolton, was still underway today as police renewed their appeal for help.

Detectives released a description of the youth who dragged the girl into bushes at 7.45pm on Wednesday night the popular recreation and fishing area near the Firwood Industrial Estate.

She was subjected to a five minute "extremely serious and traumatic" sexual assault, said police.

Her attacker then walked off with two young boys aged about nine and 13 years, who were fishing nearby, and are not thought to have been aware of the attack.

The attacker is thought to be aged 15 to 16 years, thin, with short dark brown hair, and was wearing a checked shirt with jeans.

Anyone able to help track him down, or who knows the two boys he walked off with, is asked to contact Astley Bridge CID on 0161 856 5751 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
