FOUR members of the Wigan team which scored Britain's only victory in the first round of World Club Championship have been named in the Australasian Super League Magazine's team of the week.

The four were the pick of the Warriors' line-up which beat Canterbury 22-18 on Monday night.

They were two-try hero Jason Robinson, man of the match Gary Connolly, stand-off Nigel Wright and second rower Mick Cassidy, whose 39 tackles were more than any other player from any club on the weekend.

The quartet were the only British-based players to get recognition. But one of their former Wigan team-mates, Auckland's Denis Betts, was also named in the squad.

Coach Eric Hughes is in the happy situation of who to leave out for Monday's clash with the Brisbane Broncos.

"It is a big headache who to leave out and I never like telling a player he will not be involved, but it is nice to have options."

The Wigan club will be holding a press conference in the morning with the coach and a number of players via a satellite telephone link using special equipment supplied by BT.
