DARCY Lever collected more welcome points as their batsmen produced a winning show against Spring View.

They had to chase a total of 185-7 that would have been considerably more but for Jason Whittaker's bowling return of 3-33 off 19 overs.

While Whittaker tied up one end, however, runs flowed at the other, Nigel Geary 52 and Ian Murphy 52 not out, the two Spring View batsmen to profit.

With the weather a constant threat, the Darcy reply was fairly rapid and they sealed their five wicket win in 43 overs, Whittaker completing a fine match with 72 and Wayne Hopkinson 55. Little Hulton also found winning form as they completed a three wicket win at Walshaw.

Their bowlers held the Bury side to 136-8 and although Charles Dagnall picked up 7-73, David Ainsworth's 65 took Little Hulton to a winning 138-7.

Elton enjoyed a 52 run win over Astley and Tyldesley thanks to a solid all round performance.

Steve Lomas hit 75 and Darron Foy 53 in Elton's 179-5 while Gareth Williams led a strong bowling attack with 6-53 while Foy added 4-53, A & T being dismissed for 127.

Atherton must have been reasonably confident after totalling 191-6 at Daisy Hill, Philip West hitting 75 and Brian Cole 62, but the weather had the final say and Daisy Hill, who were 0-2 at one stage, recovered to 97-4, pro David Hamilton contributing 53.

Edgworth were also foiled of a result by the weather after holding the advantage over Standish.

Defending a total of 150-7 they had Standish on the ropes at 103-9 when the rain started, Chris Jones collecting 5-38 for Edgworth and Andy Cumberbatch hitting 39 and taking three wickets for Standish.
