THE world's first solo-coaster, "Skytrak", is preparing for take off at Manchester's Granada Studios this summer and is definitely a force to be reckoned with.

The ride is hailed as unique because, unlike other rollercoasters, riders go solo, flying head-first along the track in a specially designed "flight-pod".

Passengers zoom high and low above the Granada Studios, experiencing twists and turns similar to the sensations of a jet plane taking off.

Granada Studios managing director Maurice Kelly believes Skytrak will give visitors the flight of their lives.

He said: "Nobody has ever seen or experienced anything like it before.

"Not only are passengers out there on their own, they're actually flying head first, with the incredible sensations of solo flight."

Designed and built specifically for Granada Studios, the £1 million attraction will open on June 25.
