COMMONSENSE has prevailed with the announcement from the Football Association that they plan to take no action against Wanderers' mascot, Lofty the Lion.
It is a pity Wolves fans insisted on going ahead with their complaint alleging that the lovable lion had sparked off an ugly incident during the Bolton v Wolves game last month. The FA had already indicated they would take a lenient view after reading a letter of explanation from Bolton.
But the Wolves supporters wanted their pound of flesh, or at least a portion of lion meat. Happily, they did not get it.
Lofty may have tamed his routine, but he is still the Lion King as far as Bolton fans are concerned.
