SIR: May I through your newspaper express my sincere thanks and appreciation to Bolton Council for the Civic Medal awarded to me on January 29 and also to the Mayor and Mayoress, Cllr and Mrs Johnson, for their hospitality to my wife and me at the luncheon on January 30. It was a very humbling experience.
May I just add that, without the help and support of my family and friends and the people of Bolton with my charity work, and the many people who nominated me, I would not have had the honour of receiving this Civic Medal.
