AN angry dad suffered burns to his arm - on a Bolton Water Place slide.

Mr Shaun Mather, of Pilkington Road, Radcliffe went along to the swim centre with his daughters Keely, aged eight, and Shaunna, three.

But on the way down the raging river ride, he scraped his arm.

He explained: "There was a cushion on the last bend of the ride.

"But it was so worn away that it did not offer any protection.

"I reported the incident and the staff gave me a voucher for a free visit next time.

"But this ruined our day out and I don't think I want to go back again."

A Bolton Council spokesman said: "An incident was reported to us and the cushion has now been replaced."

As already reported in the BEN, urgent repairs are already going ahead to two of the water slides at the Water Place at a cost of £55,000.
