SIR: I recently felt compelled to point out to Mr S R Morgan that it was obvious to all (except Mr S R Morgan) that Thomas Hamilton was an evil man determined to commit an equally evil crime.

There was never anything to suggest that Hamilton was mentally ill, but everything pointed at his past evil ways.

There is a profound difference between being mentally ill and being evil. Hamilton was evil.

My sympathy and compassion is all for the children of Dunblane.

I find it very disturbing to detect that, apparently, Mr S R Morgan's sympathy and compassion appears to be all for murderous Hamilton.

I notice in your letters, Mr S R Morgan that you refer to Hamilton as 'Mr' Hamilton, as if to point out he should deserve respect - he forfeited that when he pulled the trigger!!
