SCOTT Green was today beginning his fitness race to make the starting line-up for Sunday's televised live Division One clash at Queens Park Rangers.

Wanderers' reliable Mr Versatile limped off with a groin strain during Saturday's convincing 3-1 victory over Norwich City which established the Burnden boys at the top of the table. With skipper Gudni Bergsson unlikely to start his season at Loftus Road, boss Colin Todd will be eager to have Green available for the tough trip.

Midfielder Scott Sellars will also be hoping treatment will rid him of the thigh strain which sidelined him against Norwich. Better news was Bergsson's return to light training today after being forced to watch the first three games from the sidelines and striker Mixu Paatelainen had the plaster taken off his foot after three weeks following a stress fracture.
