PITY the unfortunate cricketers on a pitch at Stansted Park club, near Chichester, West Sussex, whose matches are being disrupted by a flower.

A rare orchid has sprung up on the pitch and teams have to avoid it when they are playing. Fielders in pursuit of boundaries have to remember to step over it because the orchid might be damaged if it is moved. This brings a whole new meaning to flower power.
