A WOMAN from Wales is seeking an "angel" to carry her child.

Following the BEN's story in March about Bolton care worker Angie Coulson, who has twice been a surrogate mum, Louisa Diamond, formerly of Stockport, and now living in Wrexham, North Wales, is hoping that another Bolton woman will agree to carry her child.

As revealed in the BEN Angie, a care assistant at Prestwich hospital, gave birth to two children for Sue Mangat, 39, from Stafford, a woman she met through the surrogacy-help organisation COTS. And now Louisa is hoping someone from the town will help her out in the same way.

Louisa, aged 26, and her husband Colin, 40, are not infertile but Louisa has only one ovary and no womb. A condition which affects just one woman in 250,000.

Louisa says: "Because I have no womb I have nowhere to carry a child. We have tried everything and surrogacy seems to be the only avenue left. "When my husband was 36 we tried to adopt. But because the waiting list is six years we were told that he would be too old.

"We are really desperate to have a child to bring up and love and this seems like the most sensible option."

Because financial gain from surrogacy is illegal in this country Louisa is offering the surrogate mum travelling expenses and money to cover the cost of maternity clothes.

"We really are looking for an altruistic angel," says Louisa. "There will be no financial gain whatsoever for the surrogate mother.

"We are looking ideally for someone who just loves being pregnant or a woman who has been sterilised who would carry the baby."
