WESTHOUGHTON may have problems with the Rod Estwick affair but they made sure they did not follow them on to the pitch on Saturday.

Playing without their professional, they hit the day's top score, 252-4 with 65 from Andy Forshaw, 56 by Ian Pilkington and 31 not out from Stuart Harrison. Patrick Holder also contributed with 54 as he moved up to open the innings for the first time.

In reply, Farnworth SC finished on 194-8, pro Craig Ballantyne top scoring with 39 and Holder following up his batting display with three wickets.
