A WOMAN currently on remand facing drug dealing charges has been evicted from her Bolton Council home after neighbours described "a life of hell".

Diane Scott, of Hawker Avenue, Great Lever, allegedly allowed her home to be used "for the purposes of storing controlled substances" and had more than 300 callers in one weekend causing chaos for neighbours.

Jane Ellis, representing Bolton Council at Bury County Court, presented the transcript of a video recording taken on the street and said the volume of callers turning up during the day and in the early hours of the morning at weekends was common.

cars were often queuing up in the street blocking the road so residents were unable to park their cars.

Miss Ellis said the house was frequently raided by police searching for drugs and there had been numerous complaints from neighbours about the nuisance and noise. She said residents were harassed and intimidated and one neighbour was threatened with having his home petrol bombed.

A neighbour told the court: "It was hell. You would not believe the cars and the number of people who used to come. It was disgusting. It was throughout the day and night and into the early hours of the morning. We'd be woken at 4.30 in the morning by people banging on the window asking for her."

The woman was also evicted on the grounds of rent arrears, owing £785.

Local Housing Officer Gerry Gallagher praised neighbours for their courage in coming forward and giving evidence at yesterday's hearing.

He said: "I would like to thank the residents for their courage in taking a stand. If it wasn't for them, we would not have a case."

In making his judgement, Judge Gee said: "It is clear from the evidence that she caused significant nuisance to her neighbours. It consisted of noise and included harassment and threats to neighbours and an unreasonable amount of callers through the night and into the early hours of the morning."
