WEST Lancs Division One side Eagley knocked reigning champions Atherton Town out of the Bolton Hospital Cup with a resounding 3-0 quarter final victory last night.

An early penalty from Neil Hart and two late goals from Pete Darby and Phil Hutchinson earned the victory over the Manchester League Premier Division side.

Meanwhile, the Villagers continued their climb up the table last weekend with an emphatic 5-1 home victory over Vickers. It took the Eagles 30 minutes to open the scoring when Peter Morris netted from close range. Seven minutes later Mitchell put through his own goal after a good cross by Hart.

Vickers soon pulled a goal back at the start of the second half but after that it was all Eagley. Hutchinson grabbed the third, club captain Warburton thundered home a headed fourth for his first score of the season and a sweet volley from Maloney rounded things off.

The only blemish on a good performance was from Horrobin who blasted a penalty well wide of the mark. This Saturday sees the reserves bring their season to a close with a home game against BAC Preston. Kick off 3pm. LR's injury wait RADCLIFFE Boro entertain Eastwood Town with midfielder Jason Ashley back in the frame after missing Saturday's 1-1 draw at Leigh. Manager Kevin Glendon will have a full squad to select from for a game that could see his side move into the top four of the Unibond Division One table.
