JUST like Henry Ford's idea on car colour, a Bolton fashion firm offers any colour you want for your clothes ....as long as it's black!

Black Designs was started 12 months ago by Julie Haslam, who trained as a fashion designer.

She took the idea of the "little black dress" and expanded it into a whole wardrobe of items which she re-designs each season to follow the latest trends and shapes.

"I decided to make only in classical black so that women could build a foundation in their wardrobe so that whichever piece she chose to wear would sit next to the colour of the moment for maximum impact," explained Julie. The company is releasing a catalogue soon specialising in trousers and leggings in four sizes, and you can view the designs at their showrooms on Chorley New Road if you ring for an appointment on Bolton 383537.

You can see their designs on models on Thursday, May 2 at an unusual Fashion Show being held at Michael's Brasserie in Crown Street, Bolton town centre. Arrival is at 7pm for champagne and canapes, with entertainment on offer from Barry Manilow singalike Paul Barry. Tickets cost £3 from Michael's or Black Designs.
