A CAR thief who escaped from a Bolton hospital before he could be quizzed about a terrifying police pursuit was re-arrested again today.

The 31-year-old was captured when police swooped on a house in Tyldesley. He had been on the run for two days since he walked out of a Bolton hospital where he had been under treatment for drug abuse and minor cuts and bruises.

The man had been cornered the previous day in a stolen car after a 120mph police pursuit through Bolton. After his arrest on Saturday he was taken to Bolton Royal Infirmary - on the advice of a police doctor - after he collapsed in custody. But he escaped from the hospital the next day.

As revealed in the BEN last night the man was originally arrested after a police pursuit through the town.

The wanted man was re-arrested this lunchtime after leaving a house in Seaforth Avenue, Tyldesley. He was taken to Leigh Police Station but was expected to be returned to Bolton later today.
