POLICE are hunting a car thief who was involved in two road accidents last night in the space of five minutes.
The thief was driving a stolen Vauxhall Cavalier which crashed into the rear of a Granada car in Bury Road, Breightmet and was then driven away at speed from the scene of the crash at the junction with Garstang Avenue. Driver of the Granada Lorraine Roberts, 31, of Breightmet Drive, Bolton, suffered whiplash injuries and shock but did not need hospital treatment.
Five minutes later the same stolen car ploughed into the side of a Rover in Garstang Avenue, less than half a mile from the the first crash. Rover driver Gary MacDonald, of Harpford Close, Bolton, was not injured.
