BOLTON's deputy director of education is on the move.
Brian Atkinson, who was appointed deputy director in November, is moving to Rochdale to become director of education.
Mr Atkinson has worked for Bolton LEA since 1980 and, until last year, was specifically responsible for schools.
Born in Yorkshire, Mr Atkinson joined the LEA after eight years working as a modern languages teacher in London and Doncaster. Mr Atkinson's move means the post of director and deputy director of education are lying vacant.
Earlier this month Brian Hughes, the borough's director of education, retired. Interviews for the post are being held.
