IT'S a disgrace that vandals should be terrifying pensioners on a private Bolton housing development.
Residents on the William Sutton Trust scheme at Daubhill report that young tearaways - whose identity they claim to know already - are making their lives a misery, shouting abuse down chimneys and vandalising homes and properties.
The situation is especially sad because the scheme houses many vulnerable elderly people. Estate management has so far offered to help set up a Homewatch scheme.
This is certainly a step in the right direction. Bu, perhaps the Trust managers might do better to take a leaf out of the local councils' handbook of dealing with un-neighbourly tenants, and threaten the offending families with eviction. Then, if the vandalism continues, kick them out.
