POLICE reinforcements were called to deal with up to 60 rowdy fans after trouble erupted at Blackrod railway station at the weekend.
Officers were sent to the station to deal with outbreaks of violence involving supporters of the Vauxhall Conference club Macclesfield Town.
Trouble began after Macclesfield had beaten Chorley in the second leg of the FA Vase semi final on Saturday.
The fans were escorted to Chorley Railway Station after the game but left the train when it reached Blackrod. Scuffles broke out and extra police officers were drafted to the scene after reports of hooligans running up and down the track.
A police spokesman said no one was arrested and there was no injuries.
