IT'S been yet another tremendous week for the Bolton Hospital Cup, topped off by the fabulous news that a generous local business has come forward to sponsor the high profile charity event - TNT Same Day Deliveries of Ramsbottom.

Just what this means to the competition was summed up by organiser Peter Conroy: "It is absolutely tremendous that TNT have come forward to support us. The Hospital Cup committee is delighted. This will all help defray costs and enable us to give even more to local hospices.

The football action has been top class with Tempest United putting out hot favourites Leigh RMI, who had five first teamers in action, and Eagley dismissing the other Northern Premier side Atherton LR.

The money raised at the game for local hospital charities is rapidly growing to a tremendous level and the running total currently stands at £776. So far the tie watched by the most generous supporters was Atherton LR v Eagley where a superb £78 was donated. The £50 total from Tempest United v Leigh RMI also included a £10 contribution from a kind lady who sold a football card in the clubhouse after the game.
