By NEIL BONNAR BURY'S Lenny Johnrose is resigned to missing his biggest game of the season.

The all action midfielder serves a one-match ban when the Shakers make the short trip to high-riding Preston on Saturday.

Johnrose has reason to hope that his dismissal at Chester ten days ago could be overturned once the video of his two bookings are scrutinised.

But he admitted today: "I'm not holding my breath."

Johnrose has made one of the two central midfield berths his own in recent months and was desperate to play against his home town club.

Born and bred in Preston where he still lives, Johnrose admitted: "There will be ten to twelve thousand fans on Deepdale which will create a cracking atmosphere and if there was one game I would choose to play this would be it."

He missed both the 5-0 league defeat at Deepdale last season and the 1-0 victory in the play-off semi-finals and his frustration has been compounded by his firm belief that he should not have received either of his two yellow cards in the battling 1-1 draw at Chester.

"I have seen the video quite a few times and I'm convinced I shouldn't have been sent off. I won the ball in the first incident and I never used an elbow in the second one," he argued.

"It was just one of those days when it wasn't going to go right for me and there is nothing I can do about it.

"I only hope the referee overturns his decision after seeing the video but I'm not holding out any hope and I'm certainly not gearing myself up to play on Saturday."
