STAN Ternent sends out the Bury side that demolished Mansfield on Saturday to do a repeat job at shell-shocked Torquay tonight.

But the Shakers boss has warned that the highs and lows experienced by the two sides will count for nothing.

While Bury were beating Mansfield 5-1 at Field Mill, Torquay were losing 8-1 at home to Scunthorpe, a result which got manager Don O'Riordan the sack.

But Ternent warned: "They will be playing for pride and trying to pick themselves up tonight.

"But hopefully we can continue in the same vain as Saturday.

"We were doing okay until those two horrendous results against Scunthorpe and Scarborough then we bounced back against Reading and Mansfield. Now we have got to keep our consistency and produce the effort, endeavour and commitment.

"The players played to their capabilities in the last two games and when we do that we are a match for anybody in the league."

Bury expect midfielder Shaun Reid and defensive kingpin Chris Lucketti to shake of minor knocks and all eyes will be on whether Saturday's four-goal hero Phil Stant and his new teenage partner David Johnson can build on their impressive partnership up front.
