THE Mayor of Horwich will plant a yew tree in a church yard to commemorate the new millennium.
Cllr Stephen Rock will plant the tree at the New Chapel United Reformed Church, in New Chapel Lane, on Sunday September 4 at 11.30am.
The tree was purchased as part of the Yews for the Millennium project, which is backed by the Conservative Foundation and aims to get more yew trees into church yards.
