ON behalf of commuters, who like myself have the unfortunate experience to travel via the 98 bus, I would like to complain about the continuing failure of First Bus, to keep to the advertised service timetable, at ten minute intervals.

This 'apparently' good objective has from the beginning to the present never lived up to this ambitious target, which due to the long distance (Manchester to Bury) and the many delaying factors en route, has not surprisingly proved impossible. Why not shorten the service to, Bury to Whitefield, to minimise the hold-ups?

The timetable is a document of fiction and is of no use to passengers who have to wait up to 30 minutes in all kinds of weather. This is an unacceptable state of affairs especially for people with important appointments to keep - resulting in having to set off on their journey 30 minutes earlier. The 98 service is the one I use myself but I suspect that other routes are similarly effected.

A reply and explanation via the Bury Times, would be appreciated by users of this service (and others).
