TAKE away the hype, the win, what it meant to us and to the fans, and you'll see that we didn't play that well at Grays Athletic.

I may raise a few eyebrows with that statement, but at the time I didn't think we'd played as well as we can. And, having seen a video of the game twice since, I stand by my initial opinion.

Don't get me wrong, I was made up with the result. But if you take the occasion and the fact that it was Grays that we beat out of the equation, I'm not overly impressed.

While there were one or two good individual performances, namely Gary Roberts, we never passed it as well as we can and too many players had off days.

The other thing that disappointed me was the performance of the referee. We've got his report back and he has said the goalkeeper had put the ball down to take a free kick when Andy Mangan kicked it away - but that wasn't the case at all. Aaron McLean was still on the pitch getting treatment when Andy was sent off.

The frustrating thing is that we can't appeal against his dismissal because it has gone in the report as two yellow cards and not the straight red the referee actually showed Andy at the time.

But we've got to concentrate on the positives and hope that the momentum from Saturday's win will spill over into our next four games, which all happen to be at home.

Our first test is against Forest Green, and I imagine that will be a similar scenario to the Worcester game in that they are going to come here, be very dour, keep things tight and try to spoil the party. But we have to learn from our mistakes against Worcester and make it a high tempo game from the start.

The lads will be hoping there is a big crowd right behind them, just like there was in our last Friday night game.

And we will need their support because Forest Green are fighting for their lives at the bottom of the table and will make it as difficult as possible, which perhaps explains why they have only scored six away goals all season.

Mike Flynn's loan move to Hyde United was finally sorted out last week and we hope that he does well. At his age he needs to be playing football, so it's a good move for him.

He isn't in our plans at the moment, but that's not to say he won't be in the future unless something happens and a deal is done.

We haven't ruled out the possibility of him playing for us again though.

Last, but certainly not least, myself and everyone at the club would like to send our best wishes to Morecambe manager Jim Harvey.

The heart attack he suffered before last week's game Cambridge United just shows the pressure some managers are under at times and we wish him a full and speedy recovery.
