A WOMAN doctor had to be cut from her car after an accident near to the Rose and Crown pub in Cockey Moor Road, Ainsworth.

The woman suffered a deep gash to her head and suspected spinal injuries when her Nissan Primera was involved in a collision with a Honda Accord and another vehicle on Wednesday night.

Police closed the road as firefighters used cutting equipment to removed the front and rear drivers side doors to release the driver as paramedics treated her injuries. She was placed on a spinal board and taken to Fairfield General Hospital where she was kept in overnight.

None of the other drivers was injured in the crash which happened shortly after 8pm.
