I SHALL be grateful if you would kindly convey my special thanks, through the columns of your newspapers, to the Bury Royal British Legion, The Reverend Dr John C. Findon and all at the Bury Parish Church, The Very Reverend Paul J. Cannon, Lieutenant Colonel Eric W. Davidson DL, Officers of the Council and all who were involved in the arrangements for the Civic Remembrance Sunday Ceremony, for all that was done to ensure the success of the occasion.

The ceremony was well attended by townspeople, representatives of local organisations, all sections of our community and a fitting tribute to those who have Fallen in Conflicts to protect our Freedom and Liberty.

All who attended, I feel certain, remembered with pride and humble thanks the sacrifice that they made for us and also remembered on this day the Servicemen and women who have been injured whilst serving our country. Remembrance Sunday is a most important and significant day and the attendance and support of so many people is always greatly valued. Sincere thanks to all.
