IMPROVING the working environment for its staff has earned Bolton's local health authority a national award.
Bolton Primary Care Trust received the highest level in the Department of Health's Working Lives standard which aims to encourage employers to support their staff at work.
Assessors found that the trust had exceeded minimum standards and achieved maximum marks in five areas. Areas analysed included training, education and development, communication with staff, health and safety, and providing support to help with child care or other caring commitments.
PCT chairman, Pam Senior said: "I'm delighted at this recognition of the PCT's commitment to being an excellent employer."
