A MAN armed with a large carving knife held up an off licence in Tyldesley on Tuesday night.
The robber threatened staff at Booze Buster on Elliott Street with an eight-inch carving knife and demanded that money and cigarettes be put in a black bin liner he was carrying.
He ran out of the shop and was last seen in nearby Patchett Street.
He is described as white, aged 18-20, 5ft 2in tall, stocky build and wearing a white hooded top.
No-one was hurt in the incident but the staff were left shaken.
