I THOUGHT we thoroughly deserved to win and I told the lads in the dressing room how proud I was of them and the way they went about their work.

In the first half hour we showed them too much respect and stood off them a bit too much, but they are a good team. However, for the final hour we were excellent.

One or two things needed sorting out at half time and we just needed to believe in ourselves a little more and push forward, but in the second half we really did well and were 'at it'.

You go into a game with an angle, and ours was to try to take Wycombe's unbeaten record off them.

It was nothing personal, it's just what we needed to do and now we want to match what they have done.

You don't go 20-odd games without defeat without being a good side and all credit to them, they knew as well as anybody that the run had to come to an end. I'm just glad it was against us.

I thought young Andy Parrish did well against Kevin Betsy who is one of the best forwards in our league. His concentration and attitude were excellent.

Andy is a very, very good defender and at 17 he's only going to get stronger and fitter.

He works really hard at his game and is always in the gym and looking to improve, that's what you want.

John Fitzgerald also did fantastic when he came on at half time, he is another good defender with quality and it shows what competition for places we have now.

Danny Reet took a wallop on the edge of the box but he's a tough lad and got on with it but Stuart Barlow freshened it up when he replaced him and did very well.

We are definitely going in the right direction, we'd have snatched anybody's hand off if they'd said we'd get seven points from Barnet and Orient away and Wycombe at home.

The belief should be there when we play Grimsby on Boxing Day now.
