WHAT great news to hear from our head of parking services Ian Taylor that the responsibility to enforce the correct use of bus lanes has passed to our local authority.
Cameras on poles will be used to provide evidence of car drivers misuse to enforce fines of £60 to be issued to the perpetrators.
Would it be to much to hope that the cameras could be modified to record the number of motorists who have complete disregard for the restrictions placed upon these bus lanes and even when outside the stipulated times insist on driving down the centre of the road before cutting up the drivers on the nearside lane.
