A GROUP of Bolton pubs have played a leading role to help their brewery achieve national recognition.
The Publican Magazine has shortlisted Daniel Thwaites brewery, which owns 10 pubs in Bolton including The Grapes in Farnworth, the Starkie Arms on Tonge Moor Road, and the Toll Bar Inn on Chorley New Road, for one of the biggest industry awards.
The Lancashire-based brewery has made it to the final six for the "Pub Company of the Year' title, after judges looked at the standards of beers, food, customer service and atmosphere at pubs.
Thwaites' retail director Paul Horwath said: "To get this level of recognition for all of our operations from managed to tenanted houses is a fantastic achievement.
"We would like to pass on our thanks to licensees, staff and the customers of all the Bolton pubs for the part they have played."
