CHILDREN from Radcliffe have been getting their hands dirty while learning about the roles people play in the community.
Artists from the Action Factory scheme, based in Blackburn, visited Chapelfield Primary School to work on sculptures reflecting the community from the children's point of view.
The children from Years 5 and 6 at the Clough Street school worked on different areas in Radcliffe to be represented in the work, including the football ground and the housing estates. The sculpture will be on show in school and in other parts of the community.
Headteacher Mr Malcolm Gates, said: "This work was part of a citizenship project to get the children thinking about the world outside the school. They each worked on a bit of the sculpture and the finished work will be seen by other members of the scheme."
